National Honor Society

National Honor Society

Membership into this prestigious national organization is based on a demonstration of outstanding levels of scholarship, leadership, character and serviceEligible juniors and seniors with a cumulative weighted** GPA of 3.6 or higher will be invited to apply via email in the early fall of their junior or senior year. At that time, each applicant will be asked to join the NHS APPLICANTS Google Classroom on which is housed the application as well as other useful and timely information including due dates, various service opportunities and service requirement information.

Applications are due in early December. During December and January, the NHS Application Committee extensively reviews each application along with an evaluation of discipline records and faculty feedback.  Each candidate's performance in
all four tenets of the National Honor Society (scholarship, leadership, character, and service) must be judged to be outstanding.
Once inducted, a member must maintain his or her academic performance, continue to provide leadership within the school community, demonstrate excellent character, and provide service hours toward the school and/or community during the completion of approved service activities. Failure to meet these expectations will result in a review of the student's membership and possible dismissal from the program.

** Starting with the class of 2027, the requirement for admission to the National Honor Society will be a 3.6 CUMULATIVE UNWEIGHTED GPA.
