Math Honor Society

The Math Honor Society recognizes success in the area of mathematics. Admission into the Math Honor Society is open to all students who meet one of the following requirements:

Students must meet one of the following criteria:

If you are currently enrolled in College Calculus, AP Calculus AB or AP Calculus BC :

  • Need to currently have a minimum grade of 93 in College Calculus or AP Calculus AB or minimum grade of 90 in or AP Calculus BC.

  • Need to have a minimum grade of 90 in all previous honors level classes and a minimum grade of 93 in all previous advanced level math classes.               

Or

If you are currently taking a higher level math class you must meet ONE of the following criteria:

  • previously passed College Calculus or AP Calculus AB with a minimum grade of 93.

  • previously passed AP Calculus BC with a minimum grade of 90.


Continuing  membership: 

  • Must maintain minimum grade of 90  or higher in all mathematics courses.  .


Sustainable membership in SBHS Mathematics Club (Mathletes), Math tutor at the Homework Help Center (at least 6 hours), or Math tutor at South Brunswick Public Library (at least 6 hours). Tutoring hours provided by the Mathematics department for summer math assignments may count towards the 6 hour requirement for tutoring.


Continuing membership requires service commitment stated above.
